We bought a Roku a while back to stream videos from Netflix and display them on the TV. There have been recent updates to the Roku that allows media to be streamed from Amazon's media store. I watched some of the free content and was impressed by the quality. I went shopping tonight for some paid content and was amazed at the price! Amazon wants $1.99 per TV episode! Umm.... What? What a rip off! I think I will stick with Hulu for the time being.

Scout Camp: Horseshoe Springs
Headed out to Skull Valley on Friday to Horseshoe Springs. Had a good time with the group of boys that showed up. After we showed up and set up camp, I ducked out to check out the springs. Grabbed my rod and chucked the fly around a bit.

Lost Luggage
I am not a big fan of traveling for work. Normally I make a quick overnight or two night trip to help out a customer and I just pack a carry-on. Occasionally I need to check a bag of equipment but I always do so with the feeling that it is the last time I will ever see it again. The airlines have lost my bag more than once (FYI, Southwest has no way to track where your bag is after you hand it over). This trip I had a case of equipment that I needed to check and I had a second carry-on. Half of the bags made it to Vegas. Grrr... Of course the bag that was lost had all my clothes and toiletries. I filled out the forms and pointed to my bag type on the chart. Then they asked if I needed some toiletries and gave me a bag of stuff. Made me feel a little better about my bag being lost. Until I opened it. Here are the contents:
- T-shirt
- Razor
- Shaving cream
- Brush
- Toothbrush
- Q-tip
- Cotton ball

Moda and Baby Jesus
We found this Buddha statue outside yesterday. James really likes it but can't quite pronounce Buddha which sounds more like Moda. Today James found the Baby Jesus from the Playmobil nativity set and decided that they should be buddies.

Digging in the Dirt
Rees was helping me out in the yard this afternoon. I was weeding and Rees was busying himself waiting for me to be done. "This is taking forever!" he kept saying and then letting me know what time it was. While I was weeding I unearthed several worms and called Rees over to take a look. He asked me some questions about them which I don't remember and then announced, "I am going to call this one... Marvin." We buried them and he went back to whatever he was doing. Every once in a while he would come back and ask if Marvin had dug his way back out of the dirt pile. We would then unearth him (or one very similar) then bury them again. During one of these unerathings, Rees found a small snail shell. He examined it and then told me:
I am going to put this shell back. That way a slug will find it and turn into a snail and stay safe from predators. He spent the rest of the time making his snail shell collection. All those lucky slugs!

And the library.
Ouch! My nipples!
I don't remember how it started but the kids began yelling "Ouch! My Nipples" the other day while in the bath. I think that Rees has taken an unhealthy fascination with the word nipples ever since we tried to get him to stop pinching and otherwise manipulating his nipples.
Every night we talk about something, usually the same three things. Tonight Rees asked to talk about all the regular things and then threw in for good measure "nipples". I asked how that went and he yelled,"Ouch! My nipples!" with James joining in with the same chorus.
Once I get the audio off my phone, I will post the sound clip.

Bathroom Remodel
It has taken far too long to do what is necessary to update the bathroom. More than a month ago I ripped out the carpet, toilet and sink and put in the new floor, toilet and the electrical outlet. Yesterday Jess finished texturing and painting the walls while I put in the new pedestal sink. Learned a few things about plumbing, caulking, myself and the mysteries of the universe in the process.

All that is left to do is some touch up paint and the baseboard.
